DELRIN® (homopolymer) This Dupont acetal resin is made from polymerized formaldehyde and finds uses similar to nylon. The material is rigid and has excellent mechanical and electrical properties making its use common in appliances and electronics. G-10 & G-11 (garolite) has extremely high mechanical strength, good dielectric loss properties, and good electrical strength properties, both wet and dry. PEEK® (polyetheretherketone) is a crystalline high temperature thermoplastic which offers excellent thermal and chemical resistant properties and outstanding resistance to abrasion and dynamic fatigue. RYTON® offers exceptional dimensional stability, stiffness, compressive strength, and heat dissipation. SEMITRON has a low coefficient of thermal expansion, high compressive strength, good wear resistance and can be machined to very tight tolerances, all of which are important benefits for nests and sockets used in testing semiconductor devices. Semitron retains its high strength and stiffness at temperatures up to 520°F. TEFLON® (polytetrafluoroethylene) is an excellent high temperature insulation with superb electrical properties. TORLON® is characterized by high strength and stiffness and can maintain structural integrity in continuous use at temperatures up to 500 ºF. It can stand severe stress conditions and provides better compression strength and higher impact resistance than most other high performance plastics. Torlon also has a low coefficient of thermal expansion and creep resistance providing dimensional stability over a wide range of temperatures. UHMW® (ultra -high-molecular-weight-polyethylene) is an extremely high abrasion resistant material and is superior in physical and mechanical strength. ULTEM® (polytherimide) resin is an amorphous thermoplastic polytherimide offering outstanding high heat resistance, high strength, modules and broad chemical resistance. Ultem is characterized by high strength and rigidity at elevated temperatures, long term heat resistance in addition to highly stable dimensional and electrical properties, combined with broad chemical resistance and process ability. VESPEL® parts consistently exhibit superior performance in a variety of applications requiring low wear and long life in severe environments. Plastic Materials Chart |
